Beginning in the fall semester of 2007, Loyola Marymount University’s Student Group (LMU/AIGA) averages around 25 students per term. In addition to attending various AIGA/LA events our Student Group works together to create a community of designers and artists on campus. Throughout the course of each academic year the group creates a publication featuring student work, designer interviews, articles covering art and design related events on campus and other relevant topics. The student members also design and compile individual portfolios to be reviewed in the spring. LMU actively participates in the annual student design show EMERGE and hosted the event in Jan. 2009. We were also a recent host of a Stimulatte event in Venice Beach where design students from all over L.A. met.
