Job Description
iMedia Communications, Inc. is looking for a talented and experienced designer to help transition our web 1.0 site into the realm of user based web 2.0. If you have insatiable curiosity and are excited by design and technology, you’re a perfect fit for us! You must be self-motivated and willing to take the initiative; create great web experiences that are easy to understand, compelling, and functional.

This intermediate level (minimum 2-5 years experience) web designer position demands a keen eye for clear information design, typography, and user experience. You must be exceedingly detail oriented and willing to go the extra mile. You are creative, thoughtful and able to express ideas in an articulate, concise manner; have a keen eye for typography, color and layout. This position reports to the creative director, but interacts with all levels of the company.

Some highlights of the role:
• Champion user needs and continually strive to improve the usability of our products while understanding business and technical constraints
• Articulate the pros and cons of designs and support choices with clear, detailed evidence and rationale for decisions
• Apply brand and design standards across all projects
• Communicate with programmers and develop concepts with technology in mind
• Translate business requirements into highly usable and innovative designs for our website and web-based applications
• Help foster an open, creative, and productive atmosphere

Requirements:
• Strong visual design skills, focus on details and quality, understanding of usability best practices, and experience with current front-end technologies
• Savvy in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash capabilities are desired
-Experience with the entire design process, from wireframes through final implementation
-Must know how to code HTML (no WYSIWYG), CSS and have a basic understanding of JavaScript
-Strong communication skills
-Enjoys and supports working in a team environment
