Stephan Silver blog

Character designer Stephen Silver has a great blog in which he uploads sketches all drawn from memory of people that he observes during his lunch breaks. He is also conducting an interesting sounding character design class (that anyone can sign up for) over at the Entertainment Art Academy on Sept 25th.

Unrealart

Alison Mealey uses data collected from carefully structured matches in the game Unreal Tournament to create some amazing artwork. Strangely beautiful for something coming out of video game violence.

Free admission at the Hammer

We hear the Hammer Museum has a great Stephen Shore photography show right now, and are offering free admission through September 4th. As if that wasn't enough to get you out the door, Joan's on Third now has a cafe there too. Sounds like the perfect spot for a leisurely lunch date. (Thanks Tony)
