AIGA LOS ANGELES CHAPTER ANNOUNCES
EXHIBITION OF ARTWORK CREATED BY LA’S CREATIVE COMMUNITY
Los Angeles, California (September 17, 2003) The Los Angeles Chapter of the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) presents an art exhibition, ART/DESIGN/LA. Where does design end and fine art begin? AIGA Los Angeles invites visitors to explore this question in an exhibition of artwork produced by LA’s creative community, to be judged by professionals from the city’s most esteemed museums. The exhibition will be on display in Harold’s Gallery at INSYNC MEDIA at 550 North Oak Street in Inglewood. Opening night is November 20, 2003 from 6:30pm ? 10pm.
To qualify, the work, which can include painting, drawing, sculpture and electronic media, must not have been previously published or exhibited in any form. Anyone
who works in the visual arts, including graphic designers, photographers, illustrators, students and scholars, is eligible. The exhibition will be judged by curators and directors from The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Santa Monica Museum of Art, and Pasadena Museum of California Art. All artwork will be on sale.
The purpose of AIGA (American Institute of Graphic Arts) is to set the national agenda for the role of design in its economic, social, political and cultural contexts. AIGA
serves as a hub of thought-leadership and activity for the designing community. The association is committed to stimulating thinking about design through the exchange
of ideas and information, the encouragement of critical analysis and research, and the advancement of education and ethical practice.
