An evening of fine design, fine wine and fine paper atop the Pasadena Museum of California Art to celebrate the Mohawk Show 9
Los Angeles, California - October 21, 2008 - AIGA/LA, the professional association for design, will join with Mohawk Fine Paper to toast the design of the Mohawk Show 9 at the Pasadena Museum of California Art on October 30, 2008.
The event will begin at 7P.M. with a cocktail reception and a viewing of the Mohawk Show exhibit, followed by a presentation by designer Michael Osborne at 8P.M. Fine wine and cheese will compliment the exhibit.
The Mohawk Show 9 is a collection of print design work that is not to be missed. This travelling design exhibit celebrates five winners and twenty finalists chosen for aesthetics, content, paper usage and overall excellence of craft. It was judged by Sam Shelton, Michael Hodgson, Debbie Millman and Bart Crosby, who reviewed over twelve hundred entries.
Michael Osborne, a San Francisco-based graphic designer, will talk with guests about his experience with wine and other package design, his experiences in the profit and not-for profit worlds, his love of letterpress and whatever else strikes his fancy. Learn the basics and beyond from the man who designed the stunning Beckett Cambric promotions for Mohawk Fine Papers.
Michael Osborne is President and Creative Director of the San Francisco-based graphic design firm, MOD/Michael Osborne Design, Inc. Established in 1981, the firm's work in corporate/brand identity, package design, and print collateral has been recognized by many competitions for outstanding design, including the West Coast Show, American Institute of Graphic Arts, and the Clios.
The event will be held stylishly and sustainably to uphold AIGA/LA's and Mohawk Fine Paper's commitment to the environment.
AIGA members attend for $25; AIGA student members attend for $15. Non-members attend for $35; student non-members attend for $20. Tickets include food and drinks.
