LEGENDARY TYPOGRAPHER DOYALD YOUNG
TALKS ABOUT THE ART OF THE LETTER
AT AIGA LOS ANGELES EVENT

Los Angeles, California (December 29, 2003) Legendary typographer Doyald Young talks about his love of art and his new book, The Art of the Letter, at an event sponsored by AIGA Los Angeles. The event will be held on January 14, 2004, at 6:30 pm at MOCA At California Plaza.

Published by SMART Papers, the book is boxed and extravagantly printed: lithography, letterpress, engraved, foil stamped and blind embossed on 100# French-fold Benefit Snowday papers with 18-point Kromekote cover and divider pages.

Attendees will receive a complimentary copy of the 92-page book and Doyald will be signing books immediately following the presentation.

The event will be held at MOCA At California Plaza, 250 South Grand Avenue in Los Angeles. After 6pm, parking is $8 at the California Plaza garage on Olive Street. Street parking is also available on Grand and 1st Streets.

The event is $15 for members, $30 for non-members, $10 for student members and $20 for student non-members. There is an additional charge of $10 for registration at the door. Non-members who join the AIGA that night get into the event for free.

The purpose of the AIGA (American Institute of Los Angeles) is to set the national agenda for the role of design in economic, social, political and cultural contexts. AIGA serves as a hub of thought-leadership and activity for the design community. The association is committed to stimulating thinking about design through the exchange of ideas and information, the encouragement of critical analysis and research, and the advancement of education and ethical practice.
