Made in Space

http://madeinspace.la

Location
downtown Los Angeles

Job Description
Made in Space is seeking an intern who is looking to learn in a fun and productive environment. No job description can accurately describe this position, as it is new and different with each day and each project. Interns act as an assistant to the designers and administrators, who work on wonderful projects of varying scopes and media. No guarantees which type of job it might be â€" perhaps a video-wall, a signage program, a color palette for a building, a website, an identity systemâ€" who knows! Interns are responsible for helping the designers work efficiently; this might involve general errands, phone work, research, scanning, retouching, chores, tea,
printing, programming, coffee and fed-ex runs, etc. No prima-donnas need apply, as we all wear many hats in this small studio, and enjoy the process of design (which coffee is definitely a part of).

The best interns learn a lot, experience a full range of possibilities within design, and have a lot of fun in the process.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail oriented, reliable, and available full-time (or close to it). Experience in a design studio is not required, but some design skills are. It helps to have access to an automobile, as errands in the neighborhood or trips to job sites are sometimes necessary. All education levels will be considered, but at least 2 years in a college level design program is preferred. The candidate must have experience using inDesign, photoshop, illustrator, word, and excel. Flash and other motion skills a definite plus.

We are looking for someone who can start immediately, and we ask for a commitment of 4-6 months.
