Finance Staff with Royalties experience - Los Angeles at Parham Consulting

Los Angeles, California — Finance Staff with Royalties experience in Media or Consumer Products - Los Angeles, California, US

Salary: Maximum US$75,000 plus benefits package

Finance staff with experience in Royalties in either the Film/TV industry or the Consumer Products/Brand Licensing industries required for Software Application Consultancy and I.T. Client Relationship Management

THE COMPANY:

What we have here is the world leader in the provision of royalty processing software systems to the music, entertainment and licensing industry. They are a software house with a range of products and this vacancy relates to their products aimed at the film/TV industry or the licensing industry (A good example of merchandising/licensing is when a range of toys or products are released to promote a film or TV series, e.g. Star Wars, Toy Story, Transformers, The Simpsons, etc. ). They have a client base consisting of some of the biggest names in the entertainment and licensing industry, such as Twentieth Century Fox, Paramount, MTV, Mattel and Harley Davidson.

THE JOB:

They are seeking an individual to assist their clients through all stages of the supply process, from sales support (this is NOT a sales position – there will be no sales pressure on you!) to implementation, installation, configuration, project management, training, quality assurance and then support & client relationship management post-implementation. The sales support aspect of the role consists of simply demonstrating the product, NOT selling it! Therefore, we need a confident individual who would relish the prospect of going out and meeting clients, not someone for whom this would be a concern.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

The experience required for this role is as follows:

•	5+ years hands on experience in EITHER Film/TV OR the Consumer Products/Brand Licensing industries
•	Experience in Finance/Accounting, e.g. a Financial Analyst or CPA
•	Development and/or implementation of systems to calculate accruals, forecasting, recognize revenue and the contract renewal process
•	Analysis of royalty statements and processing of related invoicing
•	Accruals Analysis, shortfall analysis and consolidation relating to contract renewal
•	Previous experience in client-facing situations as well as strong customer service experience.

Please note the above experience is essential: You need all of the above to be eligible for this role.

Desirable, but not essential, is experience in Rights Management, Contract Management or Royalty Processing SOFTWARE specific to the brand merchandising/licensing industry.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

This is a fully client-facing role full of variety. You’ll be coming in to an existing team with an established support structure and working with some of the biggest names in licensing. Career prospects here are to grow into ever larger clients, projects and products. If you are currently performing the same tasks day in, day out and crave a change or more variety, here’s your answer!

Graphic/Interactive Design Intern at Made In Space

Los Angeles, CA — Made in Space is seeking an intern who is looking to learn in a lively and productive environment. No job description can accurately describe this position, as it is new and different with each day and each project. Interns act as an assistant to the designers and administrators, who work on wonderful projects of varying scopes and media. There are no guarantees which type of job it might be - perhaps a video-wall, a signage program, a color palette for a building, a website, an identity system - who knows! Interns are responsible for helping the designers work efficiently; this might involve general errands, phone work, research, scanning, retouching, printing, programming, chores, tea making, barista and fed-ex runs, etc.
No prima-donnas need apply, as we all wear many hats in this small studio, and enjoy the process of design.
The best interns learn a lot, experience a full range of possibilities within design and design administration, and have a lot of fun in the process.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail oriented, reliable, available full-time (or close to it.)
Experience in a design studio is not required, but some design skills are. All education levels will be considered, but at least 2 years in a college level design program is preferred. The candidate must have experience using InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Interactive or HTML/CSS experience are a definite plus. Any other skills related to environmental or architecture software are also welcomed.
It helps to have access to an automobile, as errands in the neighborhood or trips to job sites are sometimes necessary.
We ask for a commitment of 4-6 months.
The internship is unpaid but can, and has lead to a paid position.

We hope you will apply. Position open IMMEDIATELY!

Westlake Village, CA — If you are a PRO using In-Design CS5, thrive on flowing heavy amounts of copy, content and charts, obsess over details, possess demonstrated experience in print production and mechanical preparation, then we want to talk to you. All others, please don’t waste your time, or ours.

This position is NOT your “foot in the door” to a design career. We are searching for that unique individual who loves production work. We know you’re out there, because we’ve got one already, so you’d be in good company. This position requires someone who we can trust to crank out multiple versions of booklet/book content and gut out several rounds of revisions. Oh, and if you thought that was it, get ready. You need to survive our internal proofing and file preparation process to finally finish and deliver press ready files.

If you aren’t timid or scared yet, then you should know that this is an in-house, 20-30 week project that could lead to a full-time position. If this works for you, then send us your resume, samples of RELEVANT work, and your salary requirements.
