Job Description
Metro's award-winning Creative Services group is seeking a senior designer to provide design services on an as-needed basis.
Scope of Work
Metro is looking for exceptional creative talent with a particular set of practical skills. Because this position will be responsible for design of our map-making projects, at least three (3) years of cartographic design experience is required. Two years experience in art direction and managing the work flow of designers is also required. In addition, this designer will service an emerging brand program for Metro; your submitted work samples must demonstrate experience launching a new brand and developing standards, templates and style guides. Some press checks will be required.
Knowledge of Mac-based software is essential for this assignment. The selected designer will be fluent in some or all of the following software programs: Adobe Creative Suite 4, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Word. Ace skills in Adobe Illustrator are a must.
Submission Requirements
Interested designers are requested to submit the following materials via email only:
- Digital portfolio in PDF format of your best recent work, particularly in the categories mentioned above, with identification of your role in the project and the software programs used in each work sample. (No more than six samples total, please).

- Designer's Samples and Skill Set (60%)

Payment
The hourly fee range for this assignment is $40-50. Metro will pay against submitted invoices in accordance with purchase order language. Invoices are to be submitted every two weeks. Services will be provided as an independent contractor and do not include medical/dental, retirement, transportation, pension benefits or other benefits.
