President, Vice President, Secretary-Treasurer and Member-at-large positions on the board are critical to ensure the continued growth, function and stability of the chapter.

The board of directors is a body elected of and by the members, that holds the association in trust for AIGA members past, present and future. Its guiding principle is one of leaving the institution stronger at the end of each director’s term than it was at the beginning.

A list of what chapter members expect from their board is included at the end of this page.

Design professionals with previous non-profit board experience, fundraising, financial management, and senior executive experience are especially encouraged to secure nomination.

Include a resume or CV highlights.

Include the names and email and telephone numbers for at least two references that our search committee may call.

Nominees must commit to attending a minimum of ten (10) monthly board meetings each year

Nominees will commit themselves to securing the dollar equivalent of one chapter sustaining partner, during their term on the board

The nominee need not be a current member at the time of nomination, but will be required to join AIGA if elected to a board position.

Self-nominations are welcomed, and encouraged. Nominations will close promptly at 5pm Monday, March 5.

If you have questions beyond the information contained in this document, please feel free to email Jimmy Moss, President, at jimmy@aigalosangeles.org.

The AIGA Student Portfolio Review is a day-long event designed to give students—about to embark on a career in the design industry—advice on how to present themselves and their work. This event brings together over 50 industry professionals with 100 AIGA student members for the purpose of portfolio review.

Students receive thoughtful, constructive, one-on-one evaluation of their work by an array of design professionals—art directors, senior designers, educators, and hiring managers—from the greater Los Angeles area. The goal is to receive candid advice about portfolios based on professional experience. It is also a great way to network and become aware of “who’s who” in the LA design community.

Lunch and Speaker are included in the entrance fee. One of LA’s best Taco Trucks will be serving lunch on the roof top with a beautiful view of the city. Robynee Raye of Modern Dog in Seattle Washington is this years keynote.

AIGA LA is proud to announce the reviewers for AIGA Student Portfolio Day 2012:
