AIGA LA’s president announces the AIGA LA 2010 Fellows.
On behalf of AIGA Los Angeles, I am incredibly pleased to announce that Jeri Heiden and John Coy have been selected as Fellows of AIGA Los Angeles for 2010.
The Fellows award is the highest honor that an AIGA chapter can bestow upon a member. It is a means of recognizing mature designers who have made a significant contribution to raising the standards of excellence in practice and conduct within the regional design community as well as in the AIGA chapter. The areas of education, writing, leadership, and reputation as well as the practice of design are given equal consideration in measuring the significance of contributions.
Fellows of AIGA Los Angeles selected previously include; Clive Piercy, Margo Chase, Louise Sandhaus, Archie Boston, Michael Hodgson, Petrula Vrontikis, Sean Adams, Noreen Morioka, Doyald Young, InJu Sturgeon, Kim Baer, John Clark, Harold Huttas, Buddy Berke, Nan Faessler, April Greiman, Deborah Sussman, Keith Bright, David Goodman, and Toni Ann Hollander. More information on Fellows of AIGA LA is available here.
In addition to our incredible group of Fellows in L.A, a number of Los Angeles design professionals have been recognized nationally as AIGA Medalists. The AIGA Medal is the highest honor that our organization bestows. Medalists with connection to Los Angeles that we would also like to acknowledge at this point, include: Lorraine Wild, Pablo Ferro, Doyald Young, Deborah Sussman, Ed Fella, James Cross, Lou Danziger, April Greiman, Saul Bass, Charles Eames, Ray Eames, Sheila Levrant de Bretteville, and James Miho. Additional information on AIGA Medalists is available here.
We are currently preparing for a Gala event, to celebrate all of our Fellows and Medalists. The centerpiece of that evening will be presentation of the Fellows Award to Jeri and John. Watch SYNC and aigalosangeles.org for updates.
Yours,
Jimmy
