New Members: Winter 2007

New members are the lifeblood of AIGA. At the recent holiday party House for the Holidays, we had a record number of people who joined, representing a broad spectrum from the world of design. Here’s a look at a few of them.

Rian Heim heads his own LA graphic design firm, Rian Design, in LA and specializes in brand identity. Melanie Usas, senior graphic designer at Evenson Design Group, was a member in college and decided to rejoin as a professional. On the interactive side, Jonah Levine designs websites for entertainment properties in his post at Trailer Park, and joined AIGA for the sense of community. Also from the world of entertainment design, Brad Kelly is an entertainment art director at a major ad agency in Hollywood, designing film posters, DVD packaging and TV.

Our membership isn’t restricted to graphic design only, though. New member Jonah Light (great name for a photographer), shoots people and concepts for advertising and corporate clients nationwide. Blake Bobit splits his time between design and photography clients, and still finds time to attend Otis to extend his knowledge of mediums.

Quite a diverse crew, and representative of the creative spectrum you find among AIGA membership. We welcome you to our community. AIGA is the only viable resource for design community, culture and practice—and we need you to keep it that way.
