Emerging Voices is a literary mentorship program designed to launch potential professional writers from underserved communities.
Join us in a reading by this year's crop of talented writers (three poets, three fiction writers, and two memoirists) as they celebrate the completion of a year-long mentorship, including Author Evenings, workshops, master classes, courses at UCLA Extension, lectures, public readings, and informal sessions with mentors.
The eight recipients of the 2009 Emerging Voices Fellowship are: Erika Ayon, John Boucher, Rachelle Cruz, Thi Dao, Parnaz Foroutan, Sylvia Sukop, Marissa Tinloy, and Mehnaz Turner. Since its inception ninety-one writers have completed the Emerging Voices Program. For more info please visit www.penusa.org.
This event is free.
