On April 17 AIGA LA and the Apple Store Santa Monica welcome Matthew Stainner, Art Director, The Cimarron Group. He will be speaking about the process, craft and strategy behind Video Game Design.
Drawing on his experience working with some of the hottest game titles of this decade, Matthew Stainner will be discussing the current gaming explosion and how it is influencing other forms of media and entertainment. Stainner will be starting from the process of creation all the way to projecting into the future to see where the industry is heading and what that means for the rest of us.
Matthew Stainner is credited in over 20 video games from 2001 onward. He was the keeper of the creative process for Activision Publishing, bringing household brands to market like "Doom, Tony Hawk, Spiderman, Shrek, X-Men etc." Matthew also held the Art Director position for top tier game titles. In this role, Matthew was in charge of the world inside the video game. His expertise in catching the consumers attention prior to purchase translated into the digital world where he directed the player's focus through the critical parts of the story and game play.
