What's really involved in being a "strategic partner" with a client? How can you close the gap between their mindset and yours? How can you intuit what isn't being said, and introduce these unspoken needs into the discussion? How should you adjust your presentation style to your client’s personality, so that you're both on the same wavelength? How can you refocus stalled or conflict-ridden communications, to regain your client's trust and confidence? Join us for a conversation with communications coach Michele Wolpe, who offers the dual perspective of having hired many graphic designers, and having worked for nearly two decades in employee communications for major corporations. We'll have a generous Q & A session, in which you can bring up specific client issues for group discussion.

Thinking about coming to our talk? Michele would like you to ponder three Big Questions:

1. What most frustrates you about your relationships with clients or colleagues?
2. How do you think you get in your own way in working with clients or colleagues?
3. What is one thing you would most like to change about your client or colleague relationships?

Your answers will help her tailor her talk to meet your needs. Please e-mail me (cctextual@earthlink.net) or Michele (michelewolpe@sbcglobal.net). Or post your comment here. Thanks.

Thank you to Michele for an inspiring night. I loved the exercise of role playing too; it is nice to know that one is not alone in dealing with sticky situations and there are solutions to the problem. Thank you to Cathy too for moderating the event. Looking forward to the next one.

I am so excited with the shop talk of speaking your client's language! I am glad that I came over to this event. I realized this will benefit me as a student,as well, as a graphic designer in my future career. By informing a full-packed of informations how to build mutual trust with client, I am also learned that it is important to networking with other designers.

Thanks for Michelle and Cathy,it was a wonderful shop talk! I am looking foreward to see you soon !
