BLK/MRKT is a creative “boutique” agency founded in 1996 by owner Dave
Kinsey, after he observed the widening gap between corporate marketing
techniques and the fickle youth market that they were trying to reach.
In order to bridge this gap, the agency focuses on bringing a truly
unique creative edge to traditional and non-traditional advertising and
brand identity.
Along with former partners Philip DeWolff and Shepard Fairey, BLK/MRKT
moved from San Diego to Los Angeles in 2001 and added a gallery highlighting
urban contemporary art. Relocating to Culver City in 2003, the agency
recently finished the Absolut Summer campaign, Sondre Lerche’s recent
release and McDonald’s Monopoly packaging.
